Emmett Green

We installed the Schelde battery at the Nieuwe Sluis polder pumping station in Breskens: a battery container with 2.3 MWh and 1,725 kW that makes the local energy system smarter and more sustainable.

A polder pumping station requires a lot of electricity to pump water from the hinterland. When the pumping station is not in operation, the battery uses the existing grid connection to temporarily store renewable energy and feed it back in later at peak times. In this way, we help to balance the local power grid and optimise the use of green energy.

As an EPC party, we have taken over the entire process: from planning and engineering to installation and connection. In this way, we relieve our partners Emmett Green and Waterschap Scheldestromen and allow them to focus on the use and management of the battery.
