Sustenso
We have realised a battery container with 5,015 kWh and 1,290 kW of power on the site of the Sustenso biogas plant in Alkmaar. As Sustenso is growing, its energy requirements are increasing considerably. Although a sufficient grid connection is available, the company works with a contract that offers limited capacity on a call-off basis. The battery system is designed to cope with these periods of limited grid availability and to bridge the energy deficit.
The battery, which is used for storage and peak shaving, is also an important step in the energy plan for the area. The goal: a local energy centre where companies use energy more intelligently and cleanly.
This project was developed in collaboration with Sustenso, Emmett Green (consultancy and EMS) and Engie.
