Certifications

ISO 14001

In mid-2024 we obtained ISO 14001 certification: an international standard for environmental management systems aimed at reducing environmental risks and optimising environmental management.

ISO 9001

In mid-2024, we obtained ISO 9001 certification: an international standard for quality management. Through this framework, we systematically monitor and improve the quality of our processes and services.

VCA**

In mid-2024, we obtained VCA** certification (Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors). This is a standard for a safe and healhty working environment, for our employees and subcontractors.

InstallQ

Our systems are designed and delivered under the reponsibility of a certified InstallQ responsible person for solar power installations, This ensures that our solar power systems meet the applicable standards for safe and reliable execution.

As Generation Green, we consider it important that our supply chain partners are certified, both in terms of quality and responsible business conduct. These certifications are available on request.

Our ESG-policy

Our ESG policy focuses on developments where we can make the greatest long-term impact and that most strongly affect us as an organisation, identified through a Double Materiality Assessment. Our material priorities are climate mitigation through renewable energy generation, circularity, and responsible supply chains, with particular attention to the prevention of forced labour and anti-corruption. These priorities are addressed within the three pillars of our ESG policy: Environment, Social, and Governance.

Environment

Concerns the way a company cares for the natural environment. At Generation Green, this means working to reduce our ecological impact. We deliberately choose sustainable and certified materials, extend the lifespan of our solar power systems through proper aftercare, and reuse or recycle decommissioned installations wherever possible. In addition, we map our COâ‚‚ emissions. In 2026, our focus here is on achieving level 1 certification of the COâ‚‚ Performance Ladder.

Social

Concerns care for people: employees, clients, and the wider community. At Generation Green, this means investing in a safe, inclusive, and healthy working environment. We ensure good working conditions (such as safety when working at height and with machinery), provide room for open communication and mental support, and foster a culture in which we look out for one another. In addition, we work with partners who respect human rights, and we contribute to a fair energy transition that is also socially responsible.

Governance

Concerns how an organisation is run: transparently, with integrity, and with clear responsibilities. At Generation Green, this means working according to defined internal guidelines, reporting on our choices and performance, and carefully monitoring risks. In 2026, we take an important step in this area by embedding supply chain responsibility in our procurement policy through a Supplier Code of Conduct, based on international standards such as the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the ILO conventions, and by monitoring compliance.

ENVIRONMENTAL highlights

 

Circularity

At Generation Green, circularity is central to our environmental policy, because the careful reuse of scarce materials is essential to the future of the renewable energy sector.

We extend the lifespan of our solar energy systems by choosing high-quality, sustainably produced materials and by providing extensive aftercare and maintenance. This allows us to slow material flows and keep waste to a minimum. Since late 2023, we have also actively worked on closing material loops: decommissioned systems are reused or recycled wherever possible, with up to 93% of the panel weight put to useful application.

In addition, we separate our waste streams so that we can reuse them at a high level ourselves where possible, after which the remaining streams are reused or recycled to the maximum extent through our certified waste processing partner.

Sustainable business conduct

Sustainability is part of daily life at Generation Green, including within our own working environment. We work paperless wherever possible, drive electric, and deliberately choose company clothing made from high-quality organic and recycled materials, which, thanks to its long lifespan, needs replacing less often.

Safety

At Generation Green, safety in the workplace always comes first. Our work involves risks, such as working with hazardous substances, at height, with machinery, and in high-noise environments. To minimise these risks, we take structural preventive measures, not only for our own employees but also for (sub)contractors.

We work with a safety expert, draw up Health and Safety Plans (V&G-plans) and Risk Inventories and Evaluations (RI&E) for each project, and obtained our VCA** certification in 2024. Every installation is delivered in accordance with strict Dutch and international standards and guidelines, including NEN 1010, NEN 3140, NEN 7250, and IEC 62446. A safe working environment forms the foundation for sustainable success.

Wellbeing and vitality

We promote vitality and enjoyment at work among our employees. That is why we invest in healthy choices and enjoyable experiences: from a contribution towards gym memberships or a bike, to joint holidays and sporty team outings, where we wear our own sports shirts. We also promote flexible working, so that everyone stays healthy and motivated. This approach pays off: we have a low average absenteeism rate.

People-centred company culture

At Generation Green, we place great value on an open and caring company culture in which people look out for one another. Regular work meetings and progress reviews provide room for open communication, including when it comes to personal or work-related problems. Employees can also turn to an internal or external confidential adviser.

With the steady growth of our team in recent years, we recognise that maintaining our close-knit culture requires effort. That is why we continue to invest deliberately in a safe, engaged working environment in which attention to one another is central.

Ethical business conduct

At Generation Green, we uphold a high standard of ethical conduct and transparency in all our business relationships. Our ethical guidelines form the basis of who we are and how we operate: honestly, with integrity, and with respect for human rights, both within our organisation and throughout the supply chain.

We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, child labour, or forced labour, and we work only with partners who endorse these principles and commit to upholding them. In addition, bribery, corruption, and improper conduct are countered through a strict zero-tolerance policy for our own employees and business partners alike. Where discussions fail to bring improvement in cases of ethical misconduct, we may end the collaboration. In this way, we build lasting relationships based on trust, openness, and fairness.

Transparency

At Generation Green, we believe transparency is key to building lasting relationships and enduring trust. We communicate openly and honestly about our operations: from decision-making and project progress to performance, challenges, and sustainable impact. During projects, we actively involve all stakeholders through regular updates, accessible brochures, and clear communication.

After completion, we provide a ten-year plan for maintenance and monitoring, ensuring transparency over the long term as well. Our reports are written to be clear and accessible, and we actively encourage feedback and dialogue. In addition, through annual ESG reports, we make our progress on our goals insightful and measurable. This documentation is shared publicly via our website, so that everyone, from client to supplier, has easy access to our ambitions, results, and future goals.

Responsible procurement

In 2025, Generation Green took an important step in its governance policy with the introduction of Socially Responsible Procurement (SRP). Based on international guidelines such as those of the OECD, we are laying the foundation for a procurement process in which human rights and safe working conditions in our supply chain are central.

This policy is embedded within our procurement practice, with clear criteria for selecting suppliers. In addition, through an ongoing process, we are building a system for monitoring, complaint handling, and improvement. In this way, we ensure robust, transparent, and sound business operations and a supply chain in which sustainable growth goes hand in hand with responsibility and oversight.
